Mankato, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris women's soccer team kept up their high scoring ways today (Sept. 30), earning a 3-0 win over Bethany Lutheran in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action.

Freshman Christina Mollan (Menomonie, Wis.) scored the first of her two goals just 3:45 in, giving the Cougars a led they would never lose. She was back at it less than 30 seconds later with a shot that was blocked by the defense, eventually getting her second score at the 26:40 mark.

Mollan scored on assists from Rachel Berns (Stillwater, Minn.) and Zoe Bergstrom (Westminster, Colo.) and now has five goals on the season. For Berns, she records points for the second straight match, after getting her first career goal last weekend. Bergstrom notches her team-leading seventh assist on the season, after four in the Cougars last game.

Leading scorer Leah Parker (Minnetonka, Minn.) added the Cougars third and final goal, scoring at the 50:38 mark on Berns' second assist of the day.

Parker now has six goals on the year and has recorded a point in three of the last four games.

The Cougars controlled the entire match, firing off 22 shots – including seven on goal – while the Vikings had just five total shots for the day. Their 22 shots are the third most they've put up, and they have topped the 20 mark in four different matches.

The Cougars also lined up 13 corner kicks on the day, while holding the Vikings to just one. It was the most corner kicks the Cougars have had this season, and the third time they've held their opponent to zero or just one corner.

Morris will wrap up the weekend tomorrow in New Ulm when they take on Martin Luther in a 2:00 p.m. match-up.
