Box Score MORRIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars (10-3, 9-1 UMAC) shutout Bethany Lutheran 3-0 on Saturday to get some revenge after the Vikings gave UMM their only UMAC loss of the season.
Meghan Laird had a pair of goals and
Ally Heida had the match winner for Morris.
In the tenth minute Heida received a pass from
Justine Wolf in the middle of the pitch about 22 yards. Heida took a touch to settle the ball and drilled a shot in the top left corner putting the Cougars on top.
About eight minutes later Laird scored her third goal of the season finishing off a cross with her head from
Kelsi Kolle. The ball hit of the inside of the post and into the net.
Laird added her second goal of the match in the 64
th minute finishing off a cross from Kolle again, hitting the ball from about six yards out into the top of the net.
The Cougars outshot Bethany Lutheran 6-3 on the day as
RiAnne Metz got her first win of the season making one stop. Morris has now held opponents without a goal for 500 minutes.
