Conference Leaders Clash on Friday

MORRIS, Minn. – The Cougars may have already clinched a spot in the UMAC Tournament but their UMAC season is far from over. Four matches remain including one that could be the difference in a regular season UMAC title. Tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 p.m. St. Scholastica and Morris will do battle at Cougar Field.

Currently the Saints and Cougars are tied atop the UMAC with 27 points and a 9-1 record. The Cougars beat the Saints 1-0 in Duluth to end their 99 conference match winning streak. A win on Friday would give them a three point lead with three matches left and a 2-0 record against St. Scholastica.

On Saturday the Cougars take on the Lumberjills at 2:30 p.m., earlier this year Morris beat Northland 7-0 in Ashland. Rachael Berns and Katie Kestner each had two goals in the match.

Minnesota Morris will honor seniors Kali Cordes, Rikki Beaver, Katie Kestner, RiAnne Metz and Chelsea Moody before the match.
