Emily Auch had eight kills to lead the Cougars.
The Cougars were held to .062 hitting on the night as the Eagles had 11 blocks on the night. Kendra Korporal had 19 kills to pace the Eagles as they came back to win the match.
Morris took a 10-4 lead in the first set but the Eagles came back and tied at 16 before taking an 18-17 lead. Northwestern never gave the lead back taking the set 25-23.
UMM took an early lead again in the second set, jumping out 7-1 and led 14-7 midway through the set. Late in the set the Cougars led 19-10 but NWC rallied scoring nine straight tie the set at 19. The Cougars took a 20-19 lead but again Northwestern rallied to score four straight taking a 23-20 lead and winning the set 25-23.
In the third set it was back and forth until UMM score four straight to take a 13-9 lead. Northwestern rallied to score eight of the next nine points taking a 17-14 lead. Morris was never able to recover falling 25-17.
Minnesota Morris will be back in action tomorrow taking on North Central at noon and then will take on Augsburg at 5:00 p.m. wrapping up their regular season.
