Rubber Match Awaits Cougars

MORRIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars and the Northwestern Eagles will have a rubber match tomorrow at 7 p.m., deciding who will head to Saturday's Championship game. In Morris the Cougars hit .197 en route to a 3-1 win. Northwestern won the first set 25-21 but UMM turned on winning the next three sets 25-23, 25-20, 25-20. Emily Auch had 13 kills leading the team while Jennifer Schmidt had 12.

Last Friday night at Northwestern the Eagles swept the Cougars 25-23, 25-23, 25-17 behind 19 kills from Kendra Korporal. The Cougars had 19 errors on the night falling just short in the first two sets.

The postseason provides the Cougars a chance to continue their impressive season. With 21 wins the Cougars have their third highest win total in school history.
