Box Score DULUTH, Minn. – The Cougars and St. Scholastica battled into overtime but a 96
th minute goal by the Saints ended the Cougars upset bid falling 1-0 in the UMAC Championships.
Rikki Beaver stopped six shots to keep the Cougars in the match up the 26
th shot by Saints broke the back of the Cougars.
St. Scholastica was in control in the first half with a 14-0 shot advantage but the Cougars did their job keeping them at bay. Beaver had two saves in the half and UMM defense stopped nine corners from the Saints.
In the second half the Saints outshot UMM 11-2 but it was the Cougars outshooting CSS 2-1 in the overtime period but the Saint got the match winner from Andrea Beatt.
The Cougars finish 12-5-2 on the year and won 10+ matches for the fifth time under
Dan Magner.
