Morris, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris basketball teams are back in action tomorrow evening as they play host to Mayville State. This will be the second time in a just over a week that the two teams will face off. Last week the women lost in double OT 103-99 and the men picked up a 79-77 win.
The Cougars women (2-4) will play at 5:30 as they look to rebound from a tough 60-53 loss on Tuesday night to Valley City State. Kayla Kramer and
Kelsey Erickson led the way combining for 26 points on the night. Erickson did most her damage from the line as she went 8-10 from the foul line. Most of the starters were responsible for the scoring as the starting five combined for all but seven of the 53 points.
Abby Fragodt led the way on the boards grabbing 11 rebounds along with four points, three blocks and three steals on the evening.
In the previous match against Mayville State the Comets had five scorers with at least 12 points on the night. Sabrina Rude led the way with 24 points on the night thanks to seven three pointers.

Kendra Wycoff led the way for the Cougars combining for 62 points on the evening. The Cougars made 14 three pointers on the night which is their highest total in a game this season.
The men (2-4) will also look to try and respond after a loss on Tuesday night to Valley City State. Both the Cougars and Vikings struggle shooting on the night as the Cougars came up short. The Cougars will hope to reverse their fortunes against a Comets team they beat 79-77 just over a week ago.
Last week
Brendon Foss had 22 points and ten rebounds against the Comets, it was his second double-double of his career.
Ben Hoidal also added 15 points off the bench as the Cougars held off a late charge from the Comets. The Cougars led by as much as 23 and led by nine with under a minute left but had to escape a buzzer beater attempt.
Friday marks the final home game for the Cougar men until January 8
th, the women will have one more home match before the semester break as they host Dakota State on January 14
