Morris, Minn. - The Cougar Women's Soccer team is set to open its 2012 campaign at home against Hamline on Saturday September 1st at 4pm on the Cougar Soccer Field. The Cougars are coming off of last season where they ended the season in the UMAC championship game as runners up by just one goal. They boasted a record of 11-7-1 overall. The team returns eight out of 11 point scores from last year's team, including their starting goalie.

The Piper's are coming off of a 10-5-3 overall record, which was just the second time in school history they have finished with 10 wins, they also notched a .500 record in the MIAC for the first time in the programs history
The Cougars will be looking for a little revenge on Saturday as last season the Pipers handed the Cougars the first loss of their season with a 4-0 shutout.

In the off season the team enjoyed a fantastic International tour as they traveled to Costa Rica in May....the trip included several soccer games, some zip lining, whitewater rafting, a catamaran boat trip and some time on the beautiful beaches.

The team also spent this past Wednesday again volunteering their time to the "Feed My Starving Children" organization by packing meals for those less fortunate.

The Cougars will continue their play with another MIAC school on September 9th against Augsburg in Minneapolis, Minn. which will start at 7:30 pm.
