Brita Humphrey went over 1,000 career digs on Friday totally 18 on the day and now has 1,014 in her career. LIVE STATS

Emily Auch had 20 kills in the two matches, six against Colby-Sawyer and 14 against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps. Abby Tietz has 11 kills on the day, the only other Cougar to have double digit kills on the opening day.

Brooke Decker and Mandy Allman proved to be the main setters for UMM on the day. Decker had 32 assists and Allman had 25. UMM hit .278 on the day with just 21 errors in 169 swings.

Humphrey led UMM with those 18 digs but got help from several other Cougar defenders. Allman had 17 and Decker had 14. Auch also added nine digs in her five sets played.
