MORRIS, Minn. - The Minnesota Morris Cougars (6-1) will look for another successful weekend campaign as they head to St. Paul for the Macalester Tournament. After going 3-1 in California and then going 3-0 at home last week UMM will play four games in the next two days against four different opponents.
The Cougars begin the tournament on Friday at 4:00 p.m. as they take on Dubuque (Iowa) (4-3) followed up by a match with Carleton (6-3) at 8:00 p.m. After playing the late match on Friday, UMM will play at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday against Wisconsin-Superior (8-1) and then finish up playing host Macalester (5-6) at noon.
Morris swept Macalester last Tuesday night in the P.E. Center but has not played any of the other opponents in the tournament in 2012.
Emily Auch and
Kaylie Clark were big in the Cougars wins over Mayvile State and Mount Marty both setting new career highs in kills. Those two will look to lead UMM once again this weekend as the rest of the Cougars will aim to continue the hot start to the season.
