MORRIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris football team will head on the road for the first time this season as they head 11 hours east to take on MacMurray. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon as the Cougars will attempt to go to 2-0 in the UMAC.
GAME NOTES
Morris is coming off their first shutout since 2009 after posting a 10-0 win over Martin Luther. Following that win UMM had two players named All-UMAC Players of the Week for their efforts.
Dalton DeGraffenreid was named the UMAC Special Teams Player of the Week after his 88 yard kick return for a touchdown started the game. The UMAC Defensive Player of the Week honors went to
Zeke Miller who had a career high 16 tackles, career high two sacks in addition to, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.
After facing back to back triple option offenses the Cougars will take on a team more willing to ball through the air. So far this season the Cougars have been able to hold opponents in check as they have the eighth rated passing defense in the nation.
This will be the fourth meeting in school history with the Cougars holding a 3-0 advantage. This is the second time the two teams will meet in Jacksonville, Ill.
