Box Score MORRIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris (5-3, 4-1 UMAC) women's soccer team hosted the Northwestern Eagles (3-5-0, 3-2-0 UMAC) in a conference match up on Friday afternoon. The Cougars came in winning four of their last five matches, and during those five matches they have only allowed two goals.
Kelsi Kolle extended the streak of good play with an overtime winner.
Going into halftime the Cougars and Eagles were tied at zero goals apiece. Both teams had chances to take the lead, but were unable to capitalize on the situation. The Eagles had a free kick in the 38
th minute just outside the box, but UMM goal keeper
Rikki Beaver would jump and save it before it went over her head.
In the second half the game would be much the same, both teams had opportunities to take the lead, but neither team would score a goal, sending the game into overtime.
Just :59 seconds into the overtime period Kolle would get a pass from Megan Lard and put the ball in the back of the net for the match winning goal. It was her third goal of the season. Beaver and Minnesota-Morris would again shut out another team for the fifth time in their last six games.
The Cougars will be back on the field Saturday afternoon to take on North Central with a start time of 12:00 p.m.
