Box Score 2 MORRIS, Minn. - The Cougars (11-6, 2-2 UMAC) swept Northland and then beat Dakota State 3-1 to get a pair of wins on Saturday.
Abby Tietz had 25 kills to lead the offense and
Jennifer Schmidt had a career high 13 kills against Dakota State.
Kaylie Clark added 47 digs in the two matches.
In the first match of the day the Cougars hit .348 and held the Jills of Northland to negative hitting at -.011 on the day to win 25-14, 25-18, 25-11.
Emily Auch had nine kills and Tietz added eight in the match. In the third set UMM hit .571 and did not have an error in 21 swings. The -.011 hitting was the lowest a Coguar team has held an oppenent this year.
Against Dakot State Tietz had 17 kills to lead the offense, hitting .394 on the night. Schimdt was 13-18 with three errors to hit .556 alost a new career high for the freshman. The Cougars won the match 25-18, 25-14, 19-25, 25-22.
The Cougars are back at home Tuesday night to host Crown and Presentation in a triangular.
