Box Score MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (6-9, 2-3 UMAC) outscored the Lions 52-28 in the paint on Tuesday night as they pulled away late winning 94-71. Brendon Foss had a double-double to lead the team with 20 points and 17 rebounds; it was his career high in rebounds. Evan Reller added a double-double as well with 13 points and 12 rebounds; it was his career high in rebounds as well.
 
Three other Cougars were in double figures on the night. Ben Hoidal had 20 points, coming off the bench. RJ Dean had 14 and Jordan Gieske had 10. Minnesota Morris had 28 offense rebounds as they outscored Trinity 28-4 in second chance points. UMM's bench outscored the Lions bench 36-10 on the night.
 
The Cougars started the game on a 14-2 run after giving up the first two points of the game. Trinity cut the lead to six at 18-12 but the Cougars responded scoring seven straight points to take a 25-12 lead with 8:30 left in the half. The lead would grow to as much as 15 in the first half as Reller converted a layup with just under four minutes left in the half. Trinity cut the lead to five but UMM responded ending the half on a 7-2 run and taking a 41-31 into the break.
 
Trinity tried to pull a second half comeback and cut the lead to seven at 45-38 but Morris proved too tough on the night and once again pulled away. Foss hit a layup with 15:58 left in the game to put UMM up by eleven 49-38. After Foss' layup the Cougars never let the Lions get within single digits as UMM pulled away over the final eleven minutes and picked up the 94-71 win.
 
Morris is off until Friday night when they take on Martin Luther on the road at 7:30. The Cougars will then be in Mankato to take on Bethany Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday evening.
