Cougars Win Season Finale

Box Score MORRIS, Minn. - The Cougars finished off the 2013 regulars season with a 2-0 win over Northwestern on Saturday afternoon. Rachel Berns and Emma LaChance were the goal scorers on the day. Minnesota Moris will host Martin Luther in the UMAC Semi-finals on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

With nothing to lose the women's soccer team came out to play to end the season with a win, and that they would do.  The Cougars beat the Northwestern Eagles by a score of 2-0, to keep the momentum going into the UMAC tournament.  Rachel Berns started off the game with a goal in the 22nd minute off an assist from Carly Denler when Denler crossed it from the right side and Berns kicked the ball into the back of the net.

As time was coming to an end in the first period Emma LaChance would get her 13th goal of the season when she would get a pass from Kelsi Kolle and LaChance and then send the ball into the net in the 41st minute putting the Cougars up 2-0.

Morris would hold on to that 2-0 lead and close out the season with a win. Morgan Delaney would pick up the win for Minnesota-Morris with one save in the game.  The Cougars play again Tuesday, as the UMAC tournament will begin.
