Second Straight Road Game for Cougars

MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris will be on the road for the second straight week on Saturday as they travel to Crown. Both teams are looking for their first win of the season when they kickoff at 6 p.m. It is the second night game for the Cougars this season. GAME NOTES
 
Series History: The Cougars and Storm meet for the 11th time in school history Saturday night. The last two meetings between the schools have been decided in overtime. Morris leads the series 6-4 but the Storm has won four of the last six. Six on the last eight meetings have been decided by a single possession, with three of them going into overtime.
 
Forcing Turnovers: The Cougars defensive has been the bright spot all year long. They have done a great job getting the ball back to the offense. They rank 32nd in the nation in turnovers gained and 25th in the nation in fumble recoveries. Crown has 11 lost fumbles on the season.
 
Racking Up Tackles: Cody Hickman is quickly approaching the NCAA Division III record book. He is on pace to finish his career with 12.36 tackles per game, which ranks 8th all-time. He needs six more tackles to reach the top nine for total tackles in NCAA Division III history.
 
This season a Hickman rank 7th in the nation with 13.3 tackles per game. He is 18th in the nation in forced fumbles per game.
 
Shutdown Corner: Chandler Erickson ranks 15th in the nation in passes defended with 1.8 per game.
 
Needing to Convert: Morris has struggled on third down this year, converting just 28.7% of the time.
 
They have also struggled in the red-zone scoring 37.5% of the time and have four touchdowns in 16 red-zone attempts.
 
Scouting Crown: The Storm has had trouble holding on to the ball this season, averaging just fewer than three giveaways per game.
 
They will be playing with their backup quarterback on Saturday; he has thrown just 31 passes this season.
