EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Minnesota Morris (18-10) proved it can play with one of the best teams in the nation before falling 3-1 to #15 Trinity (20-7) 25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18.

Abby Tietz tied for the team lead with ten kills in the match.
Trinity held a small lead midway through the first set but the Cougars rallied late to pull within two at 20-18, forcing a timeout. Out of the break, Trinity increased their lead by one before holding on to a 25-22 win.
In the second set the Tigers jumped out to an 8-3 lead before the Cougar woke up and closed the gap to two at 12-10. Trinity would respond and increase their lead to 15-11. Morris would hang with the Tigers until late in the set as Trinity pulled away to win the set 25-20.
The third set was back and forth throughout. The Cougars trailed 10-6 early but battled back and tied it at 14 thanks to an 8-4 run. Trinity would go on a 4-0 run to take a 21-17 but the Cougars found a way to come back again and tied at 22. They would score the next three points as well to win the set 25-22.
The Cougars stayed with the Tigers in the fourth set as well, never trailing by more than three until late in the set. Trinity put together four straight points to take a 21-16 lead before winning the set 25-18
