MORRIS, Minn. - The Minnesota Morris Cougars (0-4, 0-3 UMAC) will try and fly past the Westminster Blue Jays (2-2, 2-1 UMAC) in the annual homecoming game at Big Cat Stadium. The kickoff is set for noon for the the eighth ever meeting between the two teams.,

Series History: Westminster holds a 4-3 series lead but the Cougars have won three of the last four games. The last time the Blue Jays won in Morris was 2009.,

Forcing Turnovers: Last weekend Minnesota Morris forced six turnovers, including five forced and,recovered fumbles. The nine forced turnovers this season rank 26th in the nation. They rank seventh in the nation in fumble recoveries this year.

Homecoming Hopes: Morris is hoping that,Homecoming will be the week the Cougars get their first victory in 2014.

Kickin It': Donnie Mavencamp continues to punt the ball well for Morris. He is averaging 43.0 yards per punt this year, ranking ninth in the nation. He also has five inside the 20, six punts over 50 yards and three fair catches forced. He was named the UMAC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time on Tuesday.

Chuck That Pigskin: Last week the Westminster starting quarterback Joe Plassmeyer, threw the ball 48 times for 346 yards and two touchdowns.

Racking Up Tackles: Cody Hickman had another double-digit tackle day on the field last week. He,currently ranks 11th in the nation with 12.8 tackles per game. He is also seventh in the nation in forced fumbles

Shutdown Corner: Chandler Erickson ranks 12th in the nation in passes defended with two per game.,

Needing to Convert: Minnesota Morris will try to step up their game on third down this week. They were just 1-17 last weekend and are converting just 24.1% of their third downs on the year.
