MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (1-2) picked up their first win of the season, taking care of Trinity Bible (2-4) 94-52 on Tuesday night.
Kendra Wycoff led the way with 18 points and five assists. Kayla Kramer wasn't too far off from a triple-double, scoring 13 points while grabbing seven rebounds and dishing out seven assists. Kramer did all this in just 21 minutes of action on the night.
The Cougars shot 50.7% from the field on the night; they were hot from behind the arc as well shooting just under 50%. In the first half Morris was 8-13 from behind the arc, they would make 13 three's total on the night. It was the most by a Cougar team since February 15, 2013 when the Cougars hit a whopping 17 three's against Bethany Lutheran.
Three other scorers were in double figures for the women on the night.
Cori Becker had 16 in 19 minutes off the bench. She was 6-10 from the field and 3-4 from beyond the arc.
Jessica Love had a career high 15 points in 15 minutes off the bench.
Maja Coomes added 11 thanks to a 3-5 night from three.
Connor Lewis led the team in rebounding with nine. She also added two points and three assists. The Cougars had 25 assists in the game.
Minnesota Morris jumped out to a 10-2 lead but the Lions put up a little fight, pulling within three at 12-9. It would be the closest Trinity would get as the Cougars responded to go on a 20-1 run and take a 32-10 lead. The lead would get as large as 30 in the first half and UMM took a 53-23 lead into the locker room.
As the second half started the Cougars stayed on a roll and continued to find ways to score. Midway through the second half Morris held a 42 point lead; they would push their lead to as much as 46. The Morris bench outscored the Trinity bench 25-0 on the night.
