Highlanders Provide Final Opportunity for Cougars

MORRIS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris wraps up the 2014 season on Saturday as they take on MacMurray at noon in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Cougars are in search of their first win of the season against the Highlanders.
 
Series History: Minnesota Morris and MacMurray meet for the sixth time on Saturday. The Cougars have won all five previous meetings between the two teams.
 
Forcing Turnovers: Minnesota Morris ranks 7th in the nation in fumbles recovered this year, picking up 12 loose balls on the year. They rank 44th in the nation in turnovers gained overall.
 
Racking Up Tackles: Cody Hickman currently ranks fourth all-time in NCAA Division III for career total tackles. He currently has 486 total tackles in his career. He needs 14 tackles to become the third player in NCAA Division III history to have 500 career tackles.
 
He is on pace to finish his career with 12.46 tackles per game, which ranks 6th all-time.
 
This season Hickman ranks third in the nation with 13.6 tackles per game this season. He is 48th in the country in fumbles forced.
 
Shutdown Corner: Chandler Erickson ranks 31st in the nation in passes defended with 1.6 per game.
 
Needing to Convert: Morris has struggled on third down this year, converting just 25.2% of the time.
 
Redzone scoring has been tough for the Cougars as well; they have scored on just 43.5% of their trips inside the 20. They have ten red-zone touchdowns on the year.
 
Finishing Move: Morris needs a win on Saturday to avoid a winless season. A win would avoid the first winless season since 2002, the Cougars last season in the NSIC.
