MORRIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris Cougars (2-5) got back into the win column on Thursday night beating Presentation 93-66 (3-6).
Maja Coomes set a new career high with 18 points after shooting 6-7 from three on the night.
Three other Cougars scored in double figures on the night as the Cougars scored in the 90's for the second time this season.
Emily Auch had 17 points and 11 rebounds to pick up another double-double.
Kendra Wycoff had 16 points and four assists.
Kayla Kraemer had 11 points and five rebounds.
The Morris bench poured in 37 points on the night. The team shot 47.1% from the field in the game, and was 12-30 from three.
The game was tight early but Morris did hold the lead for most of the half after going up 7-6. Presentation tied the game at 18 but Morris went on 20-2 run to take a 38-20 lead with under seven minutes to play in the half. The lead would get as large as twenty in the first half. Morris took a 47-28 lead into the locker room.
The Cougars maintained their big lead in the second half, never letting the Saints get any closer than 16. The lead would grow to as much as 39 after a free throw from Kramer.
On Saturday UMM will try to knock off unbeaten Wartburg at 1 p.m. in the P.E. Center.
