ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – Minnesota Morris (10-5, 2-1 UMAC) picked up another UMAC win on Saturday, sweeping Crown (25-16, 25-7, 25-11).
Marissa Ekness and
Emily Auch each had seven kills on the night.
Brooke Decker had 15 assists.
After a kill by Auch,
Abby Tietz served eight straight points as the Cougars built up a 13-6 lead midway through the first set. The lead grew to 11 at 20-9 before Crown made a mini run, pulling within seven. Morris held the Storm off and won the set 25-16.
It was all UMM in the second set as they took care of business 25-7. The lead was 12-1 right out of the gate and the first three points scored by Crown in the set were off a Cougar error.
Morris pulled away from Crown the middle of the third set, pushing the lead to nine at 20-11 before finishing the match off with a 25-11 set three win.
