MORRIS, Minn. – After going 3-1 last weekend in Colorado the Cougars volleyball team will head to St. Paul for the Macalester Invite. Minnesota Morris will take on Carleton and Beloit College on Friday. The next day they will play host Macalester and the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
LIVE VIDEO/STATS VS MACALESTER Minnesota Morris outhit their opponents by .63 points last weekend and averaged 12.2 kills per set. Defensively the Cougars had 235 digs a team to control the opposing hitters.
Hannah Terhaar led the team with 43 digs and was named the UMAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Emily Auch went over 1,000 career kills last week while leading the team with 41 kills.
Abby Tietz hit .260 last weekend and averaged 2.33 kills per set. She also led the team with six aces in 12 sets.
The Cougars had three players with at least 29 assists in the opening weekend of play.
Justine Flattum got her first start of her career and had 29 assists in a four set win, averaging 7.25 assists per set.
Brooke Decker had 60 assists and
Kayley Siekmann had 55 assists.
