MORRIS, Minn. – Tim Grove cruised to victory #100 in his UMAC career as the Cougars (6-9, 4-0 UMAC) beat Northland (2-12, 0-4 UMAC) 79-37 to improve to 4-0 in the conference.
Jessica Love led the team with 11 points off the bench. Thirteen different players scored for UMM on the night.
The Cougars never trailed in the contest and led by as much as 49 late in the second half. Morris forced 30 LumberJilll turnovers which led to 26 points. The UMM bench racked up 38 points in the contest.
Emily Auch was the only other Cougar to score in double figures on the evening.
Minnesota Morris shot 61.3% from the field in the first half, helping them take a 46-15 lead into the break. Morris had 20 points off turnovers to help them build that 31 point lead. The also controlled the paint in the first 20 minutes, scoring 32 of their 46 points close to the basket.
Kendra Wycoff and
Kayla Kraemer each had nine points for the Cougars. Wycoff also tallied five steals in the game. Morris once again distributed the ball well as they totaled 18 assists.
Tomorrow the Cougars will host St. Scholastica in the UMAC Game of the Week at 3 p.m.
