FT. MYERS, Fla. – Minnesota Morris' (4-6) spring trip ended with a 6-2 loss to Plattsburgh State (5-4). The trip is one of the most successful for the Cougars in a long time. Morris held PSU to just six runs despite allowing 15 hits.
Plattsburgh scored a run in the top of the first on a single to right. They added another run with a single up the middle in the top of the third. The game would stay that way until the seventh inning. PSU would score two runs on a double to left field doubling their lead. Morris got those runs back in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Willie Fust doubled to center scoring
Donnie Mavencamp. Fust would then score on a fielding error off the bat of
Jackson Gessell. After a scoreless eighth, PSU scored twice more in the top of the ninth to earn the victory.
Morris is now off until March 25
th when the Cougars travel to take on Concordia-Moorhead in a double header at Moorhead.
