FORT MYERS, Fla. – Minnesota Morris (0-12) fell twice on Friday losing 5-1 to Suffolk University and 7-5 to Curry College. Suffolk scored four runs in the top of the sixth to pick up the win. Morris was haunted by errors in the second game of the day.
Five different Cougars had hits in the game against Suffolk. The game was tied 0-0 until
Alex Anderson put Morris up 1-0 in the fifth inning. Suffolk would respond with four runs in the next inning to take a lead. Morris could not recover and Suffolk won by four.
In the second game of the day Morris fell behind 5-0 after five errors in the top of the first inning. Morris would get two of those runs back in the bottom of the inning after back-to-back singles to center field. Curry would get those two runs back in the top of the third.
Morris scored a run in the fourth, fifth and sixth inning but left a total of four runners on base.
Lacey Sullivan and
Paige Larson each had two hits and an RBI in the second game.
