MORRIS, Minn. - In Minnesota Morris' UMAC opener, the Cougar softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Wisconsin-Superior Saturday at the Cougar Softball Park.
The Cougars were not able to muster any runs off UW-Superior pitcher Megan Pehrson in either contest and fell by scores of 9-0 and 4-0.
In the opener, the Yellowjackets used a two-run homer in the first and a seven-run fifth inning to put an early end to the contest.
In the second game, the Cougars were able to get more runners on the base paths.
Emily Nordquist got on base twice courtesy of a pair of singles. Starting pitcher
Bret Hulett struck out four Yellowjacket batters.
Minnesota Morris (4-18, 0-2 in UMAC) hits the road for another conference doubleheader Sunday at St. Scholastica.
