MANKATO, Minn. - The Minnesota Morris men's soccer team ran their unbeaten streak to four games with a 1-0 win Saturday at Bethany Lutheran in UMAC action in Mankato.
The first half was scoreless despite Bethany Lutheran holding a 6-1 advantage in shots. UMM goalkeeper helped keep it scoreless with four saves in the opening 45 minutes.
The Cougars pumped up the intensity on offense in the second half outshooting the Vikings 6-2. One of their shots went into the back of the Bethany net as
Hugo Castaneda's goal in the 63rd minute with the assist from
Corbin McCall gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead.
Peterson stopped both shots sent his way in the second half and made six saves in total.
Minnesota Morris (4-6-3, 4-1-2 in UMAC) returns home for a non-conference test Sunday against Saint John's at 3 p.m. at the Cougar Soccer Field.
