MORRIS, Minn. - After playing their season opener on the road, the Minnesota Morris men's soccer team played in front of the home fans for the first time Sunday as they entertained Webster University from St. Louis, Mo. at the Cougar Soccer Field. The Cougars would fall by the same score they did in the opener, 1-0.
The game was a defensive battle with a combined six shots on goal throughout the entire 90 minutes. One of Webster's shots found the back of the Cougar net in the 13th minute and it was not intended to be a shot. Webster's Chris Clay lofted in a pass from the right sideline near midfield that went over the head of UMM goalkeeper
Lucas Harmon into the upper center part of the net for the 1-0 lead.
Harmon was credited with three saves for the Cougars.
Minnesota Morris (0-2) remains in Morris for their next game, Tuesday against Concordia-Moorhead at 5 p.m. at the Cougar Soccer Field.
