MORRIS, Minn. – The Minnesota Morris men's soccer team (2-9-0, 1-1-0 UMAC) picked up a 1-0 victory over Bethany Lutheran (8-3-0, 1-1-0 UMAC) Saturday afternoon at Cougar Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After the two teams went into halftime tied at 0-0, Corbin McCall scored 38 seconds into the second half to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.
- Bethany Lutheran outshot Minnesota Morris, 24-9, including a 14-3 margin in the first half.
- Jake Peterson finished with eight saves for the Cougars, including a save in the closing seconds of regulation.
- McCall and Carter Watkinson led Minnesota Morris with three shot attempts apiece.
NOTABLES
- The Cougar defense recorded its second shutout of the season.
- McCall's goal Saturday is his first of 2019, and the third of his career.
