MAYVILLE, N.D. – Four Cougars scored in double-digits, but it wouldn't be enough as NAIA opponent Mayville State (2-3) defeated UMN Morris (2-4), 82-67, Tuesday night. Freshman Ian Carlin tallied a career-best 16 points to pace the Cougar offense.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars opened the game with an early 11-5 lead over the Comets.
- Following the early deficit, Mayville State responded with a 29-5 run to take a 34-16 lead with 4:38 to play in the first half.
- With the first 20 minutes of play in the books, the Comets held a 44-24 lead over the Cougars.
- UMN Morris opened up the second half with a 13-2 run to bring the score within nine points at 46-37 with 16:20 to play in regulation.
- Later in the second half, the Cougars brought the deficit to eight points at 54-46, but once again the Comets went on a run to take a 64-46 lead.

- Dillon Haider finished the game with 14 points and was 4-for-10 from the 3-point line.
- The Cougars were 8-for-18 in the second half from the 3-point line.
