ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - A strong second-half propelled the UMN Morris women's basketball team (5-4, 2-0 UMAC) to a 75-50 victory at Crown (2-7, 0-3 UMAC) Wednesday. Abby Van Kempen led the Cougars with a season-best 18-point outing.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing by five points with 4:32 to play in the first, the Cougars were able to take a 16-15 lead into the second quarter.
- The two teams continued to trade baskets in the second quarter as UMN Morris held a 33-29 lead going into halftime.
- The Cougars opened up the second half with a 19-6 run to build a 52-35 lead with 3:24 to play in the third.
- After three quarters of action, UMN Morris led the Storm, 59-42.
- The fourth quarter saw the Cougars outscore the Storm 16-8 en route to the 75-50 victory.
