MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's soccer team (0-1-0) dropped its 2019 season opener against the Carleton Knights (1-0-0), 5-0, Friday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights and Cougars were tied 0-0 at halftime.
- Tonny Aton tallied a hat trick early in the second half to start the scoring for Carleton (46:00, 48:57 & 58:29).
- Joe Petrini recorded a goal in the 77th minute.
- Kellan Pinson scored with eight seconds left in regulation to make it 5-0.
- Lucas Harmon made 12 saves for the Cougars.
- Carleton outshot UMN Morris, 37-1.
NOTABLES
- Five freshmen started for the Cougars.
- The Cougars will play their next four games on the road.
