SAN ANTONIO – The University of Minnesota Morris women's volleyball team (0-2) dropped a pair of matches Friday at the Trinity Tournament. The Cougars tallied a 3-1 loss to No. 15 Mary-Hardin Baylor (1-1) in the opener and then fell 3-0 to No. 25 Saint Benedict (2-0).

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Late in the first set, UMHB held a 24-22 lead, but the Cougars rattled off three-straight points to take a 25-24 lead. UMHB then responded with three-straight points to take the first set.
• With the score tied at 20-20 in the second set, UMHB rattled off five-straight points to take the second set.
• Trailing 25-24 in the third set, the Cougars tallied three-straight points to take the set.
• UMHB took a 4-2 lead in the fourth set and never looked back en route to the victory, 25-18.

NOTABLES

• Brenna Tinjum and Morgan Miller led the team with 13 kills apiece.
• Four Cougars tallied at least 10 digs; Alyssa Ukestad led both teams with 23 digs.
• Layne Herrmann finished the match with a game-high 39 assists.
• Tori Everson and Ukestad each tallied a pair of aces.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Saint Benedict took the first set, 25-16.
• The second set went down to the wire with Saint Benedict taking a 25-23 win.
• Saint Benedict closed out the match with a 25-18 victory.

NOTABLES

• Morgan Miller and Mia Frick were tied for a game-high nine kills.
• Layne Herrmann tallied 24 assists and six digs for the Cougars.
