MORRIS, Minn. – Senior
Gabe Arreguin converted a penalty kick attempt in the 87th minute as the Minnesota Morris men's soccer team (1-6-0) defeated Buena Vista (0-3-3), 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Cougar Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams went into halftime scoreless with Buena Vista outshooting UMN Morris, 4-3.
- In the closing minutes of regulation, Buena Vista was called for a foul inside its penalty area, which set the Cougars up for a penalty kick.
- On the penalty kick attempt, Arreguin was able to covert and break the 0-0 tie with 3:40 left on the clock in regulation.
- Trey Heinsius made eight saves in his men's soccer debut for the Cougars.
- The Cougars were outshot, 20-9.
