MORRIS, Minn. - The Minnesota Morris football team (0-3, 0-1 UMAC) lost its Homecoming game to MacMurray (2-1, 1-0 UMAC), 38-14, at Big Cat Stadium Saturday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- MacMurray opened up the scoring on a 1-yard run by Jace Bland with 7:31 left in the first quarter.
- The Highlanders tacked on a 5-yard touchdown run from Bland with 11:21 to go in the first half.
- The Cougars scored on a 7-yard Daniel Francis pass to Nathan Sheridan with 6:55 left in the first half to make it 13-7.
- MacMurray scored four-straight touchdowns to extend its lead to 38-7 with 5:00 left in the third quarter.
- Minnesota Morris tallied an 8-yard TD run from Blake Johnson with 53 seconds left in the game to make it 38-14.
NOTABLES
- Branden Carlson recorded his first career interception.
- Francis set the school record for most pass completions in a game (31).
- Francis finished the day 31-of-48 for 222 yards and one touchdown.
- Marcos Luna and Drew Shipley led the Cougars with 11 tackles apiece.
- Blake Weimer recorded a career-high 11 catches.
- Sheridan tallied a career-best 10 catches.
