NEW ULM, Minn. – The UMN Morris women's basketball team (9-7, 5-3 UMAC) scored early and often en route to a 77-48 victory over Martin Luther (1-15, 1-7 UMAC) Wednesday night. Mia Wassink paced the Cougars with a 20-point outing.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Martin Luther tallied its only lead of the game at 4-2 with 8:16 to go, it was all UMN Morris.
- The Cougars then went on a 17-2 run over a four-minute span to take a 19-6 lead over the Knights.
- Following the first quarter of play, UMN Morris led Martin Luther, 27-12.
- The second quarter saw UMN Morris outscore Martin Luther by a margin of 16-3 to take a 43-15 lead into halftime.
- During the third quarter, Martin Luther outscored UMN Morris, 18-17, but still trailed, 60-33.
- UMN Morris then outscored Martin Luther by two points in the fourth quarter en route to the 77-48 win.
