ST. PAUL, Minn. – University of Minnesota Morris junior linebacker
Gavin Paulson was named the UMAC Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday. The honor was the fourth of the season for a member of the Cougar special teams unit.
Though Greenville University pulled away late for a 47-21 victory in the season finale for Minnesota Morris, Paulson did everything he could to keep it close. On the defensive side of the ball, the Elbow Lake, Minn. native had a game-high 16 tackles, including nine solo stops. On special teams, Paulson twice burst through the line to block a Panther extra-point attempt.
Minnesota Morris finished the regular season on Saturday with an overall record of 5-5, including a 4-2 mark in the UMAC. Both of those win totals are the highest for the program since the 2016 season.
