Balanced Scoring Attack Leads Cougars over Oak Hills Christian

Noah Kannegiesser poured in 22 points off the bench to lead five players in double-figures on the night.

BEMIDJI, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's basketball team defeated Oak Hills Christian College, 102-78, for its second win in three nights over the Wolfpack. The win sends the Cougars to 3-2 on the season.

The first half favored UMN Morris but was still fairly close until Noah Kannegiesser entered the contest. After missing his first shot, Kannegiesser hit his next seven, including five from beyond the arc. The Cougars pulled away during that stretch and despite a late comeback from Oak Hills Christian, still took a 50-38 lead into the halftime break.

It took less than six minutes for Minnesota Morris to build its lead up to 20 points, going on top, 63-43, on a three-point play from Maverick Conn. The lead grew as big as 28 points late in the contest and the Cougars were able to play everyone in uniform on the night, with 12 of the 14 cracking the scoring column.

Kannegiesser ended with 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting on the night. Ian Carlin, Pal Dak, Kobe Jenson, and Conn all ended with 10 points apiece. Jaret Johnson and Jarrett Kujava each tacked on eight. Carlin and Corbyn Alexander each nabbed eight rebounds, while Carlin and James Pendleton led the Cougars with four assists each.

Minnesota Morris wraps up its trip to Bemidji with a 6 p.m. tip at Bemidji State University on Friday.
