Football Announces 2022 Schedule

The Cougars will host five games at Big Cat Stadium, including a Homecoming matchup with Finlandia University on October 8.

MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris football team has released its 2022 schedule. The Cougars will host five of its 10 regular-season contests at Big Cat Stadium, starting with the season opener on Sept. 3.

The first three opponents of 2022 are all rematches from 2021, but with hosting responsibilities switched. Minnesota Morris will open under the lights on Sept. 3 with Macalester College making the trip from the Twin Cities for a 6 p.m. kickoff. The following two weeks will take the Cougars to Hamline University on Sept. 10 (1 p.m.) and to Carleton College on Sept. 17 (2 p.m.). The final non-conference game of the season will mark a return to Big Cat Stadium as Lawrence University pays a visit on Sept. 24 for a 12 p.m. start.

UMAC play opens on the road for Minnesota Morris, taking the Cougars to Fulton, Mo. to battle Westminster College on Oct. 1 at 12 p.m. The following week, Finlandia University makes its first trip to Morris as UMN Morris hosts Homecoming against the Lions at 12 p.m. on Oct. 8.

The month of October wraps up with a road game at Crown College on Oct. 15 (1 p.m.), a visit from Martin Luther College on Oct. 22 (1 p.m.), and a trip to the University of Northwestern on Oct. 29 (5 p.m.). Following a bye week to start November, Minnesota Morris wraps up the regular season by hosting Greenville University at 12 p.m. on Nov. 12.

The Cougars will look to build on last season's 5-5 campaign which included a 4-2 record in the UMAC. Of the 11 players named All-UMAC at the end of the season, eight are slated to return along with a loaded recruiting class that should position Minnesota Morris for success in the year to come.
