ARDEN HILLS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's soccer team fell to Bethel University on Monday afternoon, 3-0, to wrap up non-conference play.
Bethel attempted 28 shots in the match, but just four were on target. However, three of those four found the back of the net and all of them came in the opening 18 minutes. Dhiraj Basnet opened the scoring in the second minute, followed by a goal from Lucas Johnson in the 10th minute. Matthias Caspari wrapped up the flurry of goals in the 18th minute.
Lucas Harmon made one save in the match.
Carver Hammond attempted two shots for the Cougars, while
Jacob Lee and
Carter Watkinson each had one.
Minnesota Morris makes a pair of trips back to the Twin Cities this weekend for two UMAC matches. First up is a meeting with North Central University at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 22 in Minneapolis.
