SUPERIOR, Wis. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's tennis team lost to the University of Wisconsin-Superior, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Cougars drop to 1-4 (0-2 UMAC) on the season.
The Yellowjackets quickly jumped ahead with three doubles victories. UW-Superior posted 8-1 wins at Nos. 1 and 3, and an 8-0 win at No. 2.
In singles, no Cougar won more than one game in a set. UW-Superior won four of the six matches, 6-0, 6-0.
Carver Hammond was able to notch one game in a 1-6, 0-6 defeat at No. 4, while
Will Marsan fell, 1-6, 1-6, at No. 5.
Barring any changes to the schedule due to weather, the Cougars are next slated to take on Crown College on April 2 in Waconia, Minn.
