ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw at Crown College on Tuesday afternoon. The result moves the Cougars to 1-5-1 (1-1-1 UMAC) for the season.
The star of the match for Minnesota Morris was undoubtedly
Nick Isensee. The sophomore keeper earned his first career shutout by making eight saves, six of which came in the second half.
The Cougars had five shots in the first half, with three on target.
Will Marsan provided two of those while
Burke Sheppard had the other. Crown's Leo Roque had the saves to keep the match level.
In a 17-minute span of the second half, Isensee was called upon to make six saves, the last of which came in the 80th minute. Minnesota Morris had shots on goal from
Carter Watkinson and
Cooper Jones in the second half.
Minnesota Morris returns to Cougar Field on Saturday to host Northland College at 2 p.m.
