MORRIS, Minn. - Chayce Meyer has been recognized as the UMAC Football Defensive Athlete of the Week for his impressive performance against Westminster College on Oct. 12.

Meyer came away from the day with five total tackles, four solo and one assisted. 2.5 of his tackles resulted in six yards of loss. Meyer also earned two sacks for three yards of loss, continuing to expand on his record. He forced two quarterback hurries to aid the Cougar defense in allowing only one touchdown.

In addition to his aggressive performance on defense, Meyer also made a fumble recovery that resulted in an 88-yard touchdown for the defensive lineman. This was his second career touchdown in his three seasons as a Cougar.

Meyer and the Cougars will be back in action again Oct. 19 at the University of Northwestern. This rematch of the 2023 Conference Championship has been named the UMAC Game of the Week and will kick off at 1 pm in St. Paul.
