MORRIS, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Morris Men's Soccer team took on the North Central University Rams, claiming a 3-1 victory in an impressive show of athleticism. The Cougars advance to 5-8 in UMAC play coming off this win.
The Cougars opened the scoring early in the first half of this matchup, putting their first mark on the board in the 13th minute of the match.

Aaron Mackall on a long pass down the pitch, giving Mackall the perfect opportunity to launch a shot into the corner of the Ram's net. Mackall found the net again for his second goal of the game in the 23rd minute.
Brandon Patterson cleared the ball to center field, leading Mackall down the pitch for his scoring opportunity. The remainder of the first half was scoreless, despite intense offensive possessions from both teams, and Minnesota Morris led the Rams 2-0 heading into halftime.
The battle continued for both teams in the second half, with North Central taking shots on net that were stopped by
Nick Isensee in goal for Minnesota Morris. The Cougar's third goal came in the 62nd minute of the match off a corner kick from Mackall.
Jacob Lee found his position in the box, and snuck the ball past the Ram's goalkeeper to give Minnesota Morris a significant 3-0 lead. North Central's first goal came in the 71st minute, sparking the Ram's offense to maintain possession for a majority of the end of the match. Isensee remained solid in goal, stopping six shots from the Rams in the last nineteen minutes of the match. The final whistle blew with the Cougars maintaining a 3-1 lead over North Central.
Mackall led the Cougar offense, scoring two goals and taking four shot attempts. He also added an assist to his stat line on the day. Simonson and Patterson, both defenders for the Cougars, had an assist each on Mackall's goals. Lee scored his second goal of the season in this matchup. Isensee totaled up ten saves on the day for Minnesota Morris.
The Cougars will play their final game of the season Nov. 2 against Bethany Lutheran College (1pm).
