FREMONT, Neb. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to Midland University on Sunday afternoon as the Cougars closed out a two-match swing through Nebraska.
The pairings of
Katharine Kelm and
Marybeth Tautges at No. 1,
Mariah Mireles and
Ava Weber at No. 2, and
Mac Sejba-Walters and
Jhazlyn Wynne at No. 3 all took 6-0 losses in doubles to go down a point in the match.
In singles action,
Kiley Rodarmel fell at No. 1, 0-6, 3-6.
Valerie Gall was defeated at No. 2 by a score of 3-6, 0-6. Both
Allison Bruhn at No. 3 and Sejba-Walters at No. 6 loss their respective matches by scores of 2-6, 2-6. Kelm lost at No. 4, 1-6, 0-6, and Wynne was held at love in No. 5 singles.
Minnesota Morris will be off until March 8 when the Cougars finally face their first Division III foe of the season, traveling to St. Paul to square off with St. Catherine University at 6:30 p.m.
