MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris football team has released its 2024 slate, featuring four home dates that includes an opening night Homecoming contest at Big Cat Stadium.
The season begins with Homecoming Weekend at Minnesota Morris on September 7. The Cougars will do battle with Macalester College under the lights with a 6 p.m. kickoff.Â
The next final two non-conference games of the season will take Minnesota Morris on the road to face Hamline University on September 14 and Carleton College on September 21.
This year's UMAC schedule is expanded to seven games and features each team in the conference playing two teams home-and-away to start and end the conference campaign. The two teams that Minnesota Morris will match up with twice this season are Martin Luther College and Westminster College. The UMAC schedule begins for the Cougars with a trip to Martin Luther on October 5 before they finally come back to Big Cat Stadium for the team's second home game of the season against Westminster on October 12 at 12 p.m.
Minnesota Morris will play three conference opponents just once and that starts with a trip to take on the University of Northwestern on October 19 in a rematch of last year's classic UMAC finale that ended with the Cougars taking home the conference title and earning a trip to the NCAA Division III Playoffs. The month of October ends with a home game against Greenville University starting at 12 p.m.
The third of those single matchups in UMAC play for Minnesota Morris comes on November 2 with a trip to face Crown College. The Cougars then make their final road trip of the regular season on November 9 when they make the return trip to Missouri to take on Westminster for the second time.
The regular season concludes on November 16 at Big Cat Stadium with a Senior Day matchup with Martin Luther starting at 1 p.m.
Coming off the team's first playoff appearance in 1981, Head Coach Marty Hoffman will lead a Cougar team looking to defend its conference title after a 7-4 season in 2023 that included a perfect 5-0 mark in the UMAC.
