MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris football team looks to build on last week's win as they travel to Westminster College for an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) game at 12 p.m. in Fulton, Mo.

The Cougars opened conference play 1-0 after defeating Martin Luther College, 35-28.
Bryson Drake totaled 110 passing yards with one touchdown.
Sean-Keley Chinanga and
Oscar Weah Jr. had strong performances in the ground game, rushing for 114 and 106 yards, respectively. Chinanga found the end zone twice, while Weah Jr. scored his first career touchdown. The defense was led by
Gregory Ohman, who recorded 18 tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, and one forced fumble. The senior linebacker was named UMAC Defensive Player of the Week and earned a spot on the D3football.com Team of the Week.
Drake leads UMM with 282 passing yards and four touchdowns. Chinanga has a team-leading 273 rushing yards and two touchdowns, followed by Weah Jr. with 166 yards and Drake with 104.
Carter Watnaas has totaled 194 receiving yards and three touchdowns, including last week's game-winner.
Following his career performance, Ohman leads the Cougars with 47 total tackles (29 solo, 18 assisted).
Arian Saenz follows closely with 44 tackles. Minnesota Morris has recorded nine sacks this season, with
Chayce Meyers contributing 2.5. Meyer and
Jackson Viemeister each have an interception. The defense has forced seven fumbles, with
Dino Villalobos forcing two.
Trever Cockerill is having an impressive first season with the Cougars, averaging a conference-leading 41.5 yards per punt. His longest punt this season is 62 yards, and he has pinned opponents inside the 20 five times. Last week, Cockerill rushed for 33 yards on a fake punt.
Juan "JT" Garza III leads the team with 213 kickoff return yards, averaging 21.3 yards per return.
Westminster enters the matchup with a 2-2 overall record and an 0-1 mark in UMAC play. In their conference opener, the Blue Jays were defeated 38-24 by Greenville University. Westminster held a third-quarter lead before Greenville scored 17 unanswered points to secure the win.
Junior quarterback Trey Thomas leads the UMAC in passing with 921 yards (230.3 per game) and six touchdowns. Trace Helsel leads the ground game with 231 yards on 51 carries. Keegan Zbybel and Conner Coffey have been the top receiving threats, with 276 and 234 yards, respectively.
Freshman linebacker Jason Colnius leads the Blue Jays with 37 tackles and 6.5 tackles for loss. The Westminster defense has tallied eight takeaways — five interceptions and three forced fumbles. Against Greenville, they recorded two interceptions and one fumble recovery.
Minnesota Morris leads the all-time series 10-9 after last season's win — their sixth straight in the series. In the 2024 matchup, the Cougars defeated Westminster 47-27. Drake tallied 261 total yards, throwing for one touchdown and rushing for three more.
