Men’s Soccer host Crown for Midweek Action

MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris men's soccer team has one game this week as it hosts Crown College on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) action at Cougar Field.

The Cougars are coming off a strong week in UMAC play, picking up two wins. UMM defeated Crown College 2-1 before topping Martin Luther College 4-2. Aaron Mackall scored four goals across the two games, earning UMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the fifth time this season. Jake Anargyros added two goals in the win over Martin Luther. In goal, Nick Isensee collected two more wins and made eight saves on the week.
 
Following his standout performance, Mackall now leads the UMAC with 16 goals and ranks second nationally in NCAA Division III. Anargyros is second on the team and third in the conference with seven goals. Other Cougar goal scorers this season include Whitaker Root, Brett Bartkowicz, Theo Bubser, Guillaume Hensgens, and Justin Page. Isensee is closing in on the program's career saves record—he's just 21 saves away. So far this season, he has tallied 79 saves, five wins, and three shutouts.
 
Crown College enters Wednesday's contest with a 2-8-3 overall record and a 2-4-1 mark in UMAC play. The Polars dropped both games last week—first falling 2-1 to UMM and then 3-0 to Bethany Lutheran College. Ashton Hosler leads the team with six goals, while Noah Feneis and Jared Hernandez have each scored twice. In goal, senior Leo Roque has started 12 games and played in all 13, making 58 saves so far this season.
