Women’s Soccer Looks to Extend Winning Streak with Midweek Game

MORRIS, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Morris women's soccer team will look to extend its three-game winning streak as it hosts Crown College in Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) play on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

The Cougars went 2-0 in conference play last week, moving up to fourth in the UMAC standings. UMM opened the week with a 1-0 road win at Crown, where Malia Totoris scored her first goal of the season in the final 15 minutes to break the deadlock. Minnesota Morris kept the momentum going with a 2-1 victory over Martin Luther College. Bella Toth and Brianna Ganske each scored in the win, while CJ Frear-Boerner earned two wins in net, making six saves across the two matches.
 
In her first season, Ganske leads the Cougars with five goals and one assist for a team-high 11 points. Hope Berscheit follows with three goals. Rounding out the top three in points is Toth, who has two goals and one assist for five points. Ashlynn Pollreisz leads the team with three assists in her first season at UMM. Frear-Boerner has started all 14 games in goal, recording 95 saves and three shutouts.
 
Crown College enters the match with a 1-9-2 overall record and a 0-6-1 mark in UMAC play, having lost its last three games. The Polars played UMM last week, falling 1-0, and followed with a 9-1 loss to Bethany Lutheran College. Layla Kerr leads Crown with three of the team's 10 goals, while Aubrey Makela and Ellie Schanbacher have two goals each. In goal, Rachel Fuller has made 108 saves, which ranks second in the UMAC.
